Booked a room with absolutely brilliant views of the sea. There was an excellent bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, and bath sheets. Location: the hotel was just off beautiful beach, nugget point, and South Island.

I thoroughly enjoyed the room for your suitcases, the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The rate was me$ 86. The hotel was in an amazing location, close to the sea. Further, it was close enough to the beach as well as Kaka Point.

I stayed at Bates Beach for one night during my visit to the Catlins. The room was clean and the view was good. The bed was comfortable and I loved the covered shower enclosure, which prevented steam from fogging up the mirrors. The water pressure in the shower was great. Plus, Norm, the host, made me feel very welcome and I enjoyed the convenience of having the Catlins Brewery located right next door. The hotel is also conveniently located within a short walking distance to Kaka Point town and the beach. a great stay!
I recommend this hotel.
